two girls.
two mamas.
one ball.
In one afternoon for one child, this is plenty.
Plenty of learning, negotiating, feeling frustrated, crying, laughing, running, taking, giving, receiving, talking, holding, consoling, empathizing, watching, listening, feeling sad, feeling happy, feeling, moving, figuring out, working things out, wondering, observing, struggling, surrendering.
Any "shoulds" around socializing...as in "children should be in groups with other children" can be let go. No need for daycare, school, large playgroups. No need for big adult to children ratios. No need for rules or learning to obey or standing in lines. No need for much at all to learn about relationships and about oneself and about life.
And to learn all that big stuff in the loving presence of those who love you most? Well, that's very fine indeed.
