We pickled beans. My first time doing it in the light of day and two moving, interested, helping babes at my side (rather than in the dark of the night) in many years. It was quite a day. These are the yummiest things and so worth the effort. In January, I will be delighted that we did this, as we lay a treasured bean inside a homemade sushi roll. Ahhhh. And so fun for our children to be part of the cycle of saving food for winter.
I know the recipe is somewhere in the archives...hmmm. It is from the book Putting It Up With Honey.
i found it. now i have to decide if i should try that recipe or the one from the ball book. i am inspired. i wonder if my local farm still has enough green beans for me - and dill....
