natalie wrote this blog post about her sister emily and i like it, very much. i see myself in the trying to fix and the , oh that happened to me once, scenarios and the second that those things are out of my mouth (because unless i am fierce about it, out they will come as the default), i feel regret. empathy is hard work. it requires discipline. it doesn't seem natural until it is practiced again and again and again. i will keep trying...because it is the very most importantest thing of all.
