my sister gifted me an old camera of theirs this holiday, helping me out after losing mine. oh what a gift. the heavy weight of it in the palm of my hand feels pretty much like a miracle. wish and wish and poof...here it actually is. thank you, sis. i finally got around to ordering the cord needed to download pics, so here's a random sampling from the past few weeks to catch you up a little.
hi again - i'm not really new to knitting- i learned as a teenager and often have had projects going, some ambitious, some simple. i've never become very fast, and so recently i've been trying to make hats so i can maybe pair down the ancient knitting basket of various balls and skeins. i thought the hats your kids were wearing might be from the last minute knitted gifts book? which i am using now to make one... in terms of waldorf, some things appeal to me about it, yes, especially hand projects, music, 'protecting' childhood. but i also tire of it sometimes, too, and i don't know if i'd be interested in being involved with a school or community. maybe sometimes it can feel a bit fixed in my impression. but then again i'm sort of ambivalent about a lot/many things. witness this comment. today i'm making a delicious soda/oat bread from heidi swanson's site:http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/oat-soda-bread-recipe.html, in case you're looking for new ideas. she has a great raw kale salad recipe in her archives, too, that we make constantly. love to your family.

beautiful! sunlight, fence, people, hats (i think i'm making a very similar one now)book, knitting. Congratulations on a 'new' camera. Though I still think about which images you might have lost when your old camera went drifting out of your grasp.

thanks anne. i love bringing the camera everywhere too. i felt like i was missing some vital part of myself without one. but it was also an important thing to experience, too. glad for all of it and sooo glad to get to create a record of ordinary beauty of these two and life around us. xxoo i have the hat in an envelope, now just need to get to the post office!

angela...i love that idea of gathering with friends around the full moon. we made cream of parsnip soup and sourdough biscuits a couple of nights ago from it and thats actually all that ive read so far. im LOVING the glimpses of it that ive had and will savour it more and more. maybe tonite :) it seems to bring the sacred into food and i am so craving that. sacred in everything, actually. how is the life of the nomad for you all? where are you now? xxoo

i am sure you are loving that camera, and i am loving the glimpse at your most recent days, great photos! have to ask, how are you liking Full Moon Feast? i started reading it at the beginning of last year, got together with some friends each full moon throughout the year, and now it has become such an integral part of our lives, our community, our journey. hope it brings you together with good food and good friends, too. :-)
