this dear boy has been down with a fever and throwing up since yesterday. he's certainly feeling better now, though. my mama instincts come roar when these babes are sick. everything else loses all meaning and my focus is fierce. researching remedies, reminding myself to trust the fever because it is burning up whatever needs to go, on high alert lying beside his hot, still body all night and listening to his shallow breathing.
dear boy. your strong body knows what to do.
yes blaik i can imagine you cherish any moment when you can lie down and drop everything to just be with your four little ones. whoa.

When my daughter had the bug last year i remember droping everything and just laying with her. It can be scary to trust the fever but it is so much better. In fact i sort of like when the kids get sick...it gives permission to us, a family with 4 young ones, to just stop. Good for you, most people think i am crazy for parenting the way that i do.

oh poor guy. stomach bugs are the worst. and fevers are scary. noro(sp?)virus is going around community school, and his symptoms sound similar. it starts really intense with vomiting and fever, but leaves fairly quickly too. i hope that is the case for Elliot. take care. love to you.
