oh the dreary days of coughing and snottiness continue (i folded 18 snot rags from the laundry yesterday!), with some intense toddler miserableness thrown in and freezing temperatures making even the most tame dog walk a brave and bold undertaking. yet today, we came home to packages of love. homemade leek soup from natalie, a set of beautiful artistic nature fine prints from my talented sister, and books and fresh, new pajamas for the kids from my mom.
here he is, delighted to be wearing peter pan and captain hook...
and there is knitting, joy oh joy. i just finished this for my sad little saschy girl...
she loves it and keeps saying...you made this for me, mama? it sends tingles of delight through me when she says that. the soulfulness of an ongoing creative undertaking of any sort, but especially the mama-made for my loves sort, fills in all my weary cracks.
the pattern for this little cardigan is free and found here. i made it out of the soft and beautiful manos del uruguay fair trade merino (maxima) in peach melba. you can buy it here. something that meets this girls extreme standards for softness against her skin (she is still naked most of the time).

That sweater is totally DELICIOUS! Love seeing Elliott in peter pan and captain hook. Did the baking soda help?
Love Mom
