I am sitting in a hotel room while my mom and sister pop out for fresh coffee.
Elliott and Saschy are snuggled with their cousin watching something on the Knowledge Channel.
I can see the ocean.
In a few hours we will be swimming in the ocean with a gaggle of people we love
and a new skim board.
I am thinking about you all and want to tell you that there have been
so many moments on this trip that I wanted to tell you about
and that getting on the computer in that particular moment
didn't work.
Like late night canning with my dear friend, passing on the dilly bean
legacy to her.
Like leaning against giant cedars breathing in their calm and then
finding this Mary Oliver poem.
Like all the shining moments of synchronicity which have reminded me
of just how friendly this Universe is
and how blessed I am
and how much goodness there is
just in being alive
and choosing to be kind to myself.
Our trip ends in a few days.
Being here has been like coming home
to myself.
I'll tell you more...and whatever, whatever is going on for you right now,
I hope you know that you are like the trees and the ocean and the air and the sky,
just as you are.
You are you. And that is enough.

we just got back from the island too, it is still wrapped around my soul, the campfire and salt have infused my hair, my kids' hair, our clothes, our beings.
it is fun to see the island through your lens of love, connection and friend-and- family joy. Refreshing!!
we were much further south than you, on wild land, and wild beaches and open sky overhead.
This line "...Our trip ends in a few days.
Being here has been like coming home
to myself...." made me think, "OH YEAH!"
I get that, I truly do. We plan to relocate there, plans are underway, and it is very exciting and wonder-full at the moment. Glad your trip was so soul-full-y satisfying :)
