Yes, Kimberley..I so want you to have a root cellar. An absolute must for such an amazing food creationist as yourself. Love to you and still singing inside from being near you.

SOunds like a lovely day Kris!
We're up to our belly buttons in tomatoes. Beautiful heirloom slicers (Cherokee Purple is my current fave), and lots and lots of paste tomatoes (Baylor Paste is my favorite paste). So there has been some canning, and lots of eating.
And best of all, we're packing to go on our annual goat-packing adventure into the backcountry. Our sweet Alpine dairy goats double as pack animals and we'll let them carry our gear as we carry our two little ones into a beautiful alpine lake high in the Cascades. It's about as close to heaven as I can imagine right now. Fresh goat milk, and the opportunity to still be able to make it into the backcountry!

Wow. That's all I can say. I get one or two things done in a day and feel accomplished. (still only two years into this mama gig, and preggo) However, this list just so happens to look like what I imagine my daily life will stack up to be in a few short years. So inspirational!! Thank you:

The root cellar find is the best thing ever! Soooo incredibly awesome. It is on my wish list when we buy a house and we will surely build one .... but to magically find one in your existing home?!

I just told my boss that I want to work toward moving to part time to spend more time with my kids. She supported me fully and even though she doesn't have children seemed to truly understand my desire and need to do that right now. I feel so happy and free!
