We've been heading into the woods lately for afternoon adventures.
It doesn't seem to matter whether it's for one hour or three. We all return home realigned, more at peace.
Creating our own shelters for sipping warm raw milk with honey and cinnamon.
Painting what we see. Look Mom, this is the color of yarn juice. Maybe we can make our own paints. Hey...this is a rainbow tree.
We found this dead woodpecker on the road and brought her home with us to bury her. These curious littles have dug her up a few times to see what's happening under that magical earth.
Elliott wanted to paint her so I drew the outline and he sat down next to her in the dirt and created this.
Slipping into any little patch of nature reminds us that we are indeed whole. We hold a place is in the sacred circle of things, sending our smallness and our bigness in the silence. I notice myself humming the tune as we walk...if you go into the woods today, you're in for a big surprise...

oh yes, paulina...always a happy thing to do. ahhh. and not so easy when the computer is your work!
